I love Blue Magic , also dissolves bugs and tar . I'd drink this Sh** , but Seafoam tastes better ...

Disclaimer : Do not drink the Seafoam !

Depends on what I have to clean off the chrome. I use windex for light cleaning and WD-40 for bugs and road tar.

Microfiber and Windex. Mother's chrome polish to get scratches out if needed. Chrome is easy to care for.

another Blue Magic fanboy here

no expUrt by any means, just my experience from having tried a half dozen or more chrome 'n metal polishes from all the major brands on chrome and aluminum car/truck wheels over the years.

they all make 'em shine (even the crap autozone house brand spray 'n wipe detailer makes it shine)
Better polishes give a richer/deeper shine though compared to spray 'n wipe detailers

what sold me on Blue Magic is the ease that cooked on brake dust/residue comes off.
as well as deep rich shine.

so I naturally used it for my bike (lots of chrome and polished aluminum dish rear wheel) I bought a couple years ago.

I've found nothing better/easier/faster to remove the bug spatter on forks, nor anything faster/easier to remove boot heel cooked on pipes.
AND...did I mention the DEEP/RICH shine!!

always open to better suggestions from real experts, but I haven't found anything better that Blue Magic for chrome and aluminum

Inexpensive Turtle Wax chrome cleaner/polish worked the best for me. I picked up a 10 year old bike that had sat, un-used, in a garage for most of it's life. Had light oxidation spots everywhere. I used about 4-5 different products, but the Turtle wax was by far the most effective.

Soap and water, then a coat of wax.

I used to clean the chrome with washing, or touch-up with windex, and then put a coat of wax on it...

Sometimes, I'd use my Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish instead of wax. It's a cream polish for aluminum, much like Blue Magic.

Then one day I tried Mother's Chrome Polish (same stuff in post #2) on my chrome..... Certainly not scientific, but I would swear it gave cleaned chrome a brilliance I never noticed before with the other methods, polishes.... It is pretty inexpensive too... It doesn't clean the chrome (bugs & tar) like the creme polish, which I suspect may have some light abrasives in it. It seems to shine better, and protects at least as well...

Mothers Chrome Polish became my go to polish/protectant for all my chrome parts & pieces since then..

I still use Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish on aluminum parts/wheels....
