I just put on the chrome sliders and put everything back and torqued everything to spec. The brake is dragging on it not letting front wheel spin freely . So i shimed caliper and its a little better. Problem is that when you let loose of handle bars , i was making sure it was smooth feeling, the front end starts to wobble. When i grab the bars it settles down. Any idea what has changed . It never did this before .
i agree, all i did was have the chrome lower fork legs put on then I assembled the front end back. when the front tire was hard to turn after i put on the caliper , i had no idea what went wrong. i took a picture of the spacers so i would make sure they were in the same. all torques to spec. ill check the bearing, just don't know why it was perfectly fine before i put the chrome lowers on. and they are from harley davidson.
Did your rotor drag prior to the work you did? I would check the run-out of the rotor. Then if that is within spec, check that your caliper pistons are retracting correctly.
You may have some foreign matter causing one side or the other to not retract correctly and causing a brake pad to drag.
Are your brake pads installed correctly, check the pad pins to make sure they are clean the the pads can move on them.
A brake pad dragging, a warped rotor, or the combination of the two will cause a wobble at speed when your hands are removed from the bars.
Did you follow the axle and fork slider torque sequence listed in the service manual?
All fixed now , it took it back apart and redone it all. here is what I had done wrong. I had the forks tweaked a little because I tightened the front fender before I did the axle. Im stupid. lol. and I fixed the wobble too, the head bearings needed adjusted back into spec. Thanks for all the help.
