hey folks, lookin for a little technical help here.currently have an 05 fatboy, has factory seat with large pad for 2 up,i found a factory solo seat off of a 06 harley fatboy on ebay.will this work?also,a dumb question, how does 05 seat come off?has a strap going across passenger section.does this need unbolting?looks like torx head.
an 06 saet will fit an 05 provided it is off an 06 fatboy and not an 06 fatboy se2
the se2 seat is different since the rear tire is 200mm
the strap has torx bolts i think t27
make sure you loctite the bolts when you put them back in
Your 05 Factory seat can be a solo or 2 up seat I believe. Mine is a 2000 and I dont think the fatboys have changed the seats. Just take the seat off and you'll see where the passenger pad comes off.

All Fatyboy seats 2000-up interchange (except SE's like others commented). I have 2 different seats I swap frequently, and to make the job quicker, I don't even botherre-attatching the passenger strap. Your seat has 2 screws on either sidebehind the leatherseat flaps, and one at the rear.
