Anyone with a Deluxe, Fatboy or Heritage ever get their pant leg caught on the rear part of the shifter. Mine got caught on it today and when I went to put my foot down at the stop light it was caught. The floorboard actually held the bike up for the second until the my pant leg became unstuck...crazy...
Can't say that I ever have, I wear boot cut jeans and have never had that happen. Maybe you should get some pants with narrower legs. Sounds like you could have really messed up your ride, glad you didnt.
I wear loose pant and that happed to me too many times so I removed the heel shifter. It wasn't one part of pants, all my pants are loose fit. Removing the heel shifer was more practical.
Took mine off the second I got the bike home the first day I bought it!

Been thinking about taking mine off as well. The question I have is...What do you do with the spline? Can you cover that part up? or is it a non issue? That is the only reason I have left it on.
I wear straight leg jeans when riding. Wind doesn't flap them around. I didn't want the heel shifter either, hubby said "just try it", and now I like it. To each his own.
