trouble getting cables back on CV carb

I never get the cables to go back onto my CV carb with out a struggle. I'm working on my 1991 FXSTS soft tail. I back the cable adjustment off and get the cable ends into the guides on the carb bracket, but it's still a struggle each time . I attach the cable bracket to the carb before putting cables into the bracket .
Does anyone have an easy solution?

Put the push side on first and set the end in the bracket then connect the pull side in the hole and pull the cable up by the sheathing and it will rotate the throttle valve and allow you to have room to put the end of the sheathing in the bracket. If the cables are still connected to the grip your going to have a heck of a time trying to get enough slack to allow you to seat the sheathing in the carb bracket.
