I'm trying to figure out if I can modify my windshield brackets to fit the Reckless XE fairing.

I have a '98 Softail Custom, and the company says it will not fit, presumably due to the metal connectors that are on the fairing.

For anyone who has this fairing, would you mind to measure the distance between the two metal connectors?

I'm pretty good at metal fabrication, and if it's relatively close, I can usually make it work.

 

Help me understand what you're looking for. I have one of these. If I can help you I will, if you decide to have it painted, do not let them do it. Be careful what you expect from them. I'm still in the process of doing a write on my Reckless Mess Fairing. PM me, we can exchange numbers and talk. They look great on paper, but I assure you, they are not.

04FXDI - you still going round & round with them? Thats a shame - I ordered mine & all was & is good other than a screw that came loose & lost. hope you get it sorted out.
