I've got the turing pillion, the floorboards for the passinger. She says her legs cramp. Also, she feels like she would fall foward if I wasn't sitting I front of her. Which , I guess causes the leg cramps. Can I raise the front of her seat. Change the mount or somthing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Les
I bought a Mustang Touring seat for my Sloptail back before THE MAMA got her own bike. Very comfortable for her, and she said she never felt as if she was sliding forward. Of course, it's oogly as cow-flop, but THE MAMA does tend to get her way on some things! (At least it only took me about 5 minutes to swap the seat and backrest out.)
Yes both sold by Harley Davidson... the first one is brand spanking new
Both are cheaper than Corbins or Mustangs... and basically do the same thing, rider back rest is removable, its adjustable and they fold down
Doubt they are made with leather tho.. like the tops of Corbins.. but Mustangs are vinyal
You gotta remember.. most seats need to be BROKEN in before they comfy.. could tell your wife that.. ride with ya more.. smaller trips till its broke in
There are also gel pads that can sit on top of the seat u can get.. they incased in wetsuit material or fuzzy fur type of deal.. sheep skin to whatever you can find hehehe.. I dunno but several our local HOG members have em.
I saw a couple sets while at the Hollister rally last month. Your floorboards won't fit, but she'll be able to adjust where the pegs fit.
The gel pad might be a good idea as well. It will raise her a bit (about 1/2 inch at the most) so she might get more wind buffetting on top of the head (depending on how big she is and where she fits behind you).
You could also look at getting a different sissy bar pad. The one you've got may be too thick, so it's putting her forward. A friend had that problem. He cut the pad down and now his wife likes the ride much better. She leans back instead of straight up.
Now thats an idea Harlydude. Thanks , I'm going to look into all these ideas. A new seat would work, but I like my seat. Those adjustable foot pegs might work too.
Get the pillion reshaped, we do this and put a little rear angle in it so the passenger is leaning more onto the back rest and adding memory foam will let her sink a little into the seat which also prevents her from sliding forward and we just started offering a wide double decker memory foam modification that widens the seat and makes it super soft and very comfortable.
