Default Tour Pack for '01 Softail Classic FLSTC

I'm looking for some sound advise from the seasoned softail owners. I have a '01 softail classic (my pride and joy). It has the standard configuration with the aftermarket addition of a passenger backrest and small rack. I'd like to remove the backrest and rack and add a HD tour Pack / tour pack rack. 53209-09 / 53066-00D. I'm really unclear on what mounting hardware I need to complete the install. I'd hate to commit to buying $1000 worth of hardware only to find out I need to cobble the install. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Ride safe.. Stay well Regards from VT

If you have the QD mount for the sissy bar I would look at the aftermarket TCMT luggage rack and plastic tour pack only be in for a few hundred. The PO did that on my FLSTC works fine looks good

I bought my tour pak at a yard sale many years ago.
If I recall correctly the seller said it was on a 1996 Heritage which is likely the same mounting need as a 2001.

The rack the tour pak was attached to was like the one pictured below.
The tour pak was simply bolted to the rack using 4 holes drilled through the tour pak and in the rack.

It actually fit my 09 Heritage and for a while that's what I ran with until I found a deal on a used removal rack designed for the tour pak.
I ended up giving the old rack to a fellow forum member in North Dakota.

Here's a like new one I found on ebay for $75.
You might do a little searching as I've seen these racks over the years for as little as $25.
The cheaper ones might be a bit marred but since you're going to cover it with the tour pak that wouldn't matter.

I'd do so

Per the fitment chart the actual tour pak rack will fit a 2001 Heritage.

However the quick disconnect kit states it doesn't fit a 2001 Heritage but I find that questionable since if the rack fits I would think the hardware should too but you might have to roll the dice on that one.
