Default Tour pack or back rest and stealth rack

Well I am in need of some opinions, I cannot decide between the tour pack or a back rest and stealth luggage rack. I ride 1 up 80% of the time, but here lately my better half has been riding more and more. I borrowed a backrest from a friend and she is fine with it, she says she needs a seat lol, I plan on a sundowner seat for her, I want her to be comfortable as possible, I really enjoy her going with me. Anyway I need a few opinions and pics are surly welcome. What are the pros and cons on both? all help is greatly appreciated
Thanks yawl,
Chris

It's a function vs. form thing so only you can decide what is best. Hard to beat the King tour pack; we like it because we want to be able to lock up our stuff when we go in to eat, etc. and a chopped tour pack wouldn't fit our helmets. I ride with three friends who have Street glides: one has a king tour pak and likes it, one has a generic Ebay tour pack and wishes he had a king tour pak and the other has a chopped tour pack but is thinking of selling it and getting a king.

YMMV

If you don't plan on needing to store anything, then just get the backrest.
I have both the backrest and a chopped tour pack.

I leave the backrest on 99% of the time, but sometimes you just need a little extra storage and the tour pack comes in handy.
I like the looks of the chopped better, but as mentioned they don't have as much room.
Our half helmets fit, but our 3/4 will not.

I had the Sundowner with the medium backrest / luggage rack and the passenger grabrails and the wife was more than happy. I bought the King Tourpak with the wrap around backrest and added the tourpak armrest kit and now the "throne" is complete. No way would she want to go back to a simple backrest and have to hang on to the grabrails!

Side note -
Now I don't have to worry as much about her nodding off on a late night scoot and falling overboard! Also. it's nice having all that extra space to keep things!

Two up, I use the King Tour Pack. Otherwise I just leave the rack on incase I need to carry something that does not fit into the saddlebags.

I only use the King Tour during the winter when I wear more stuff and need a place to store extra clothes while traveling. I have the two up rack, but I think the stealth rack is far better looking and probably just as practical. I got the rack and sissy bar for my Super T bag before I got the King Tour.

Breakdown: Two up a lot, she and you will love the King Tour. Two up occasionally, the sissy bar and rack is more fun, especially for short cruises. I am glad I have both even if I do not use the King Tour much during the summer.

I personally like the rack with some quality luggage. Price for that is usually less than Tour pack, and comes off easy, and can hold more stuff with the right luggage setup.

If you want her to be as comfortable as possible, you want a Tour Pak. King or chopped, up to you. I would do it right the first time and get the King, but my opinion might be a little biased. I wouldn't have a bike without it.

I've personally never been a fan of the way the tour Pack looks. It does have functionality, though. I prefer a sissy bar, and luggage rack. I have a Sissy bar bag that holds for more than a tour pack can, and I just strap it on when I need it, and then carry it into the hotel/chick's house/etc. My woman rides her own bike, and likes the exact same setup. So, I never have to worry about storage space on my bike for her crap, etc.

For the 07 I had a King TP, Chopped TP & sissy bar with rack. Used the Chopped most, then King & rarely the sissy bar. Once I got used to that easy access extra storage, I found it hard to be without.

Chris,

My 2009 CVO Road Glide only came with a little ( a joke) sissy bar back rest.

My wife didn't care for it coming from a lager sissy bar.

I knew it was going to be a for a short time but I bought a Medium size sissy bar. This worked for awhile.

Fast forward, I then ordered a King Tour-pak with the works.

Wife PREFERS the King Tour-pak over the Medium size sissy bar. She is the Queen, and you know the rest of the Story, If Momma ain't HAPPY,...............

Seriously,

Some prefer the Sissy bar and Rack, some prefer the Tour-pak.

Some like the King, some like the Chopped, King holds more if you are thinking about doing any traveling, but the Chopped LOOKS much better.

It's really up to you!

Good Luck,

YB
