It's probably under the gas tank on the left hand side. You can access it by just lifting the front of tha tank as opposed to removing it completely. That is also the only way to disconnect the headlight without cutting the wires
If you are wiring for the hi/low beamgarage door opener, the place to splice it is on the left front side of the tank, underneath. You need to be able to prop the tank up enough to work with it, should be able to do this with the quick disconnect from the fuel line and by taking out the under bolt from the front of the tank that goes under the frame. Watch for the cross over fuel line, which restricts lifting the tank, you will need to drain or remove it.
I put the door opener on, works great, but took a while to find the splice point. Front left side of tank. HD instructions on this are pure s***. They forget to tell you the proper way to loose the tank without fuel spillage and other disasters ...
Eddie, I was considering the GDO thing as a future upgrade so it's funny you would use that as an example. That said, I was looking for a conviueniet place to hook up my Garmin. Either way that was very helpful.
