Default Windsield recommendations: 2005 FLSTC

Recently acquired 2005 Softail Classic needs a windshield. That's the way I ride since I bought my first FLH back in 1978.
Looks like docking hardware is all there.
Considering the cost, and the fact that I will not remove the windshield once it's on... can experienced owners give me some advice on which one to get?
1. I prefer looking over the top rather than through the windshield.
2. Do the quick detach windshields allow adjustment up/down? Do they rattle once on the bike?
3. Permanent installation would be preferred. Anyone done this with the windshield mount kit for covered forks? Kinda pricey.
4. Width - anyone got a pic with the narrow vs wide screen?
Thanks for the help. This is my first softail, If it was an FLH I could answer all these questions rather than ask them.

My stock 05 Heritage was replaced with a 19" Tinted Memphis Shades, I can see over it perfectly, and if the need omes up, I can get low enough to get behind in inclimate weather. It does not rattle, I also likes the ease of removal for cleaning. I have a ful fairing now but not sure I'm 100% happy with the look.
