Hey guys. Im a newb. I have an 09 nightrain with the 200mm tire, stock black 17x6 rim and 25mm bearings. I have a solid polished Alcoa 17x6 from an 06 nightrain with 3/4 bearings that I really want to put on. Its looking like I cant make this work. The rotor appears to be the in the same spot when measuring from the outside rim lip to the rotor on both. The problem comes at the drive pulley side where the hub on the 06 wheel I want to put on is roughly 3/8 further out towards the swingam( rotor lines up, rim should center but belt way out ). Hub face to hub face is 3/8 wider. Narrower would be great as I can make a spacer but thats not the case. thinking Im screwed here. Has anyone done this swap? Is there a different pulley I can get with the same gearing thats narrower? Im thinking the difference is in the 5 speed in the 06 being in a different spot than the 6 speed on the 09. Did they make this wheel for an 07 and up with the 6 speed and 25mm bearings? Really appreciate some help. Thanks
I’ve never tried this swap but I’ve found it would be better actually trying to mock up the wheel on the bike and get your fitment measurements that way..
