Well it’s titled an 01 but it’s got we have found to have about a 96 Motor and it is stuck in gear will not move at all very stiff!

 

We will need more info, and better than, "found to have about a 96 Motor"..... That is, if you want any good guesses as to what your problem is... it's ahrd to try to diagnose a problem over the internet, second hand, to begin with... The more info, the better...

What is the year/model of the bike? We need to know how it came dfrom the factory, namely what kind of controls: mid controls or forward controls...

What makes you think it has "about a 96 motor", and what mods, if any, does it have to the drivetrain, primary, and/or transmission... FWIW... the early twin cams often had "big bore kits" installed that bumped it to 95"... I have one on my 2003 Heritage, but that BB Kit will not, by itself, affect shifting...

There are some "usual" suspects for that kind of issue (controls, shifter shaft(s), clutch adjustment, etc, etc, etc), but there are too many to just start typing them out without some better info to narrow it down... How it worked before and then what happened to cause the change would be helpful too...

 

Stuck in gear will not move at all...

Does that mean the shifter won`t move, or the bike won`t move.

Have you rocked the bike back and forth while trying to move the shifter?
