All help would be greatly appreciated. Currently replacing fuel tank guts on wife Softail and question is, does anybody have or know of an alternative mounting system to replace the mickey mouse pump birdcage in the tank. It's pretty much fallen apart and will not pay HD's price for a new one. Is there a different way of mounting the pump in the tank? Any help and links would be awesome. Thank you in advance

If you are talking about the fuel pump bracket, referred to as the "housing fuel pump" #62163-01A, I know of no alternative. That bracket itself is no longer available unless you purchase the entire "fuel pump assembly" #62897-01B for about $208 from an online vendor like Newcastle....
The only non-HD fixes in the fuel pump assembly that I've read about are:
1) Replacing the internal corrugated fuel hose, which is prone to pinhole leaks, with a good quality submersible fuel hose.
2) Replacing the OEM HD fuel pressure regulator housing (plastic), which is prone to cracking, with an aftermarket aluminum billet regulator housing. There are also some aftermarket plastic regulator housings.
If you find an alternative to the OEM bracket, be sure to post the info...
