Default Seat with lumbar support recommendations.

I have a 2005 Heritage Clasic and I want to replace my stock seat with a new seat that has lumbar support? Any recommendations?

I simply added a back rest to the already comfortable OEM seat. My 05' Springer Classic had the rear pillion and it's odd way of attaching to the front seat. I'm not sure what the OEM way of going solo was but I made a plate that attaches to the seat and to the fender bolt. On that plate I welded an upright with an e-Bay pad attached. The only down side is when I install the pillion I lose the back rest....not really too bad though as it will be the wife or my travel bag riding the pillion and both make adequate back rests.

I have the Mustang Regal Duke (The wider one)
Very comfy. Plenty of lwr back supt.
Even more so than the Wide Vintage Touring
I had on the other Heritage.
Pretty sure I bought it thru Dennis Kirk ($50 cheaper
than anywhere else.

This is something to consider. I had one on my Dyna and I loved it, not so comfy for a passenger if you're planning on trips or all day rides, it becomes a little uncomfortable after a few hours. On my Dyna I liked how firm yet comfortable it was, but when I ordered one for my 05 Heritage I didn't like it at all. Looked great, but hated the feel. I've grown attached to my Mean City Cycles upgraded seat, it's all day, all week and longer comfortable. As far a lumbar, my GF has a rack and half so I'm covered there.

For the record, I currently have an 02 Wide Glide with an 03 Anniversary seat. It appears to be a Sundowner style. It was on the bike when I bought it. While I have had no serious problems with it on day trips or even long weekend, day-after-day riding with friends; I am usually tired and sore after 100+ miles. Granted that is a Dyna and a 19 year old seat. Bottom line, I have been using an Airhawk for the fast 5 years with great success to make up for all that. But yes, it is kind of a PITA to put on and take it off. However it does help with the long rides.

As many have also said, it you are ok with the look, rider backrests work wonders too. The trick is getting the right one in the best position for you.

I am seriously looking at a 2022 Heritage. I have ridden a 2021 for 500+ miles (rental) and I know it is comfortable. But more recently with a tailbone injury I've been also looking at aftermarket seat options. MANY many folks on here have raved about their seats they have had re-done with Mean City. I am, of course, not at that point yet but I spoke with them and have a ballpark quote for when I am ready. It will cost less than a new seat and they are experts at what they do. Pad to YOUR needs. Custom leather. Custom stitching. Great reviews don't lie. Just a thought

Hi, I'm from Brisbane, Australia.
For the last ten years I have been doing what I describe as my 'Great Southern Spring Run' where I ride from Brisbane to Sydney then onto Melbourne then maybe cut across to Adelaide before returning home to visit family and mates along the way. Overall mileage around 3,300 in four weeks. The first run I did I got to Sydney and my back was killing me.
I'd heard of Airhawk but couldn't find one in a city of four million people. I called the importer who said he would personally send one ASAP. I found one in a Melbourne bike shop and bought it on the spot (so now I have two). That run I went to Adelaide with some mates using the Airhawk. Then returned home to Brisbane. I covered 600 miles on the first day heading home from Adelaide then the rest the next day without a back worry throughout.
I spent $$$ on Saddleman and two adjustments on the original and the Saddleman by the best ergonomic customiser in Brisbane but will still use the original Airhawks for anything over an hours run. Who cares what the F#ck it looks like when doing serious miles.

I have owned an Airhawk pad for almost 15 years (had to make a new cover two years ago when I got the Sportster). I've been through 6 bikes since I got the pad and I continue to keep it. I don't believe I'll need it with the current bike/seat combo but I'll still keep it just in case.

I messed around with several different seats for my softail slim, saddlemen solo -sent back, mustang -sent that back too, HD sundowner which was very comfy, I still have this but it looks like a couch on my bike. I stopped messing around and got a Corbin gunfighter, it feels pretty nice on my lower back.
