Looking for opinions or anyone that has experience running cams in a 2007 fatboy 96 cu. I've done a little bit of research but wondering what others have done.
Probably get more response in the mechanical forum or twin cam forum. Cams aren't really model specific. That said, you need to narrow it down to where you want your power, the rpm range and your style of riding. The list of cams available is long.
Bolt-in cams are designed to increase performance, over a Stage I (high flow air cleaner & high flow exhaust), without needing other changes like compression, displacement, head work..... Of course any engine mod should include a good tune...
For you to make a good choice, and us to make a good suggestion, we need to know where you want the power band to be... How do you use your bike...??
Are you a high RPM, wide open throttle, street light to street light racer....???
Or are you a 2-up touring/cruising kind of guy. Looking for low end torque, and rarely going to redline...???
If you are a cruising guy, wanting good low-end torque, with occasional higher rpm "moments"... I would suggest the Andrews 48 cams... I have rarely heard a complaint about those cams in either a 96" or 103" engine, bumping up to bolt-in cams from a Stage I...
