Can you post a pic of your ignition switch? The OE switch has a hinged cover that hides the keyed lock.
While pushing the key in, you can rotate it clockwise to the unlocked position, and remove the key. Then you can close the cover, and rotate the switch without a key. The switch will remain unlocked until you reverse the procedure.
Wow, do I feel stupid? My ignition is normal with a key. I looked at it a couple of times when I brought the bike home but didn't really pay much attention to it because it was unlocked and it had the Bluetooth fob to lock set the security system so it would not start. So I did not look as close as I should have to see that the key does lock the ignition.
That sure looks like the OEM FOB, for a bike with the active TSSM, just like your bike would have come with.....
Forgive my ignorance of newest technology, but what do you mean by bluetooth ignition....? What is controlled via a bluetooth device on your bike?
The Bluetooth fob locks the ignition so it won't start. After reading all these posts with all you guys trying to help out, I examined the bike a little more. The ignition does have a key lock so the switch will not turn on.
Out of curiosity, what happens when you lock the ignition, and then arm the system with the remote by pressing the logo button on the fob?
Do any of your lights flash?
Is there any change to the display on the speedo?
If no change occurs, you could have a dead fob or weak/dead fob battery & it cannot arm the module.
It is also possible that the TSSM module has failed or been swapped out and not original, etc.
If the lights flashed (armed) now try to start the bike and see what happens.
It should not start if the lights flashed when you armed it.
If it starts, then it was not armed for some reason.
Yeah the lights flash and it will not start so it locks. I'm just wondering what happens if I have lost the fob while I was locked? This was my original problem trying to figure out how to find the pin number that everybody says is there but I can't figure out how to get it or find it
To reset the code with a TSSM equipped bike (with button fob), you will: 1) Set your kill switch to off 2) Quickly turn the ignition switch on, off, on, off, on 3) Immediately press and let go of the left turn signal switch twice (press, let go, press, let go) 4) Press and let go of your fob button twice (press fairly hard, it's designed to resist being pressed by keys and whatnot in your pocket) 5) Current PIN number will be displayed on odometer 6) Change the PIN by pressing the left signal until the desired number is reached 7) Press the fob button twice to cycle to the next number and repeat step 7 8) Press and let go the right signal and turn ignition off when 5 digit PIN is satisfactory NOTE: Steps 2 through 4 must be completed in quick succession of each other.
Thanks for the help, but this didn't work. I tried it 3 times .
Below is the complete procedure from the 2003 owner's manual. This procedure makes no mention of the odometer window. Instead, feedback is provided by the number of flashes from the security lamp. (Note that 3-1-3-1-3 is used as an example). It may take several attempts before you get the hang of it, but it will work if done correctly.
Sorry for the lousy images, working from my phone.

Wow... now it all makes sense...
You kept throwing me with the "bluetooth FOB controlling your ignition" and I thought you meant the actual functions of the ignition switch...
I realize that I didn't understand what you were trying to describe.... until now... sorry if I confused you even more...
At least it's all figured out now......
barneyboy has given you the info you need to change your pin...
And please stop calling it a "Bluetooth" fob...
There is ZERO BT used on your bike; it is RF.
Since the fob arms the system and it prevents the bike from being started, all is good EXCEPT for knowing what the pin is (to be used in the event that you lose your fob while it is armed).
The key here is how to discover the current PIN, which is barely covered in the owner's manual.
I suspect that the dealership (or a reliable indie) can clear an unknown PIN & help you to enter a new one.

Good luck.
Actually, Bluetooth technology (short range radio frequency) could be considered by many as alternative terminology for the HD key fob (also short range radio frequency). Most of us old guys called them wireless remote transmitters before they were commonly known as fobs.
Make sure to report if that procedure works to find the PIN #. I bought my bike with the same issue of one remote and no idea of the PIN. Scared to use the alarm even if I wanted to in the possibility the battery would go dead or some weird thing while armed. So I just use the key & steering lock. But I would like to get it figured out.
Good luck and look forward to a "Sucess" post.
