Stage I
Well, I did it. I first put the screamin' eagle II mufflers on for the sound, but was dissapointed with the performance after install. I had read on this forum that you could do mufflers without doing the stage one download or A/C. Though the bike sounded better than stock, the low end torque was gone (really gone). The bike had more pony's on the upper end, but was not nearly as driveable as stock. Stage I did the trick!!! This thing pulls so hard now that I can barely hold on when opening the throttle. For anyone out there considering just doing pipes/mufflers, it upsets the fuel/air ratio enough to make a difference in driveability. If you plan on performance slip-ons like the screamin' eagle II or a new performance pipe, don't waste your time, do the A/C and stage I download at the same time. It is money well spent.
I baught an FLSTSC last week but I haven't picked it up yet. One of the things I'm having done is the Stage one and the pipes.
I'm ready to hit the road before it gets too cold, if it gets too cold in southeast GA.
