The Deluxe is the same light bar used on the Deluxe. its has a different bar shape. also it has trim rings for the turnsignals. I like the look of the Deluxe better then then the other one.
The website says which detachables will work with the dlx light bar.
The question I have is do you HAVE to use the back cover that comes with the deluxe? its the smooth style that is on the deluxe. I like the stock Fatboy cover behind the headlight with the ridges....

from what I gather is that you have to use the back cover that comes with the Deluxe becuz it has cutouts on each side for the turn signal wiring. I too like the stock ribbed cover better than the smooth cover but I don't like wires hanging around.
Why does Harley make it so hard to order parts? I would have ordered a detachable sissy bar and removable windscreen and auxiliary lighting ages ago if they just had a thing that listed all the part numbers that you need to buy together to get what you want... or had them all as complete kits.

Correct, the only difference is the cutouts for the wiring. Wouldn't be impossible to cut the stock one but might be tough to get it to look right.
Yeah I just ordered that too. I don't like the look of the nacelle anyway and the deluxe kit turn signals look heaps better in my opinion. Do you have any decent pics of the front of your bike you can post?

Deano,
I went with the deluxe kit, and the detachable windshield fits fine ......
Imlooking to buythe Deluxe Aux. Lighting Kit but not sure which lights I need that will match the stock headlight on the 07 FatBoy. anyoneknow the correct p/n for the matching lights?
I put p/n "68348-05, Aux Lamp, Clear lens w/vertical" on my 07. They match the headlight since it also has the vertical lines on it with a clear lens. Mine is not the Deluxe kit but the lights (lamps)say "fits all models w/aux lights".
Gramps, which Lighting Kit do you have on? The Deluxe offers the bullet turn signals which I prefer, but by your picture it doesn't appear to be the same as what the HD catalog shows (p/n 68699-05) and with the Deluxe Kit you can't use the ribbed stock cover, but a smooth cover with wire notches that comes with the kit
