Default Fat Boy lo and Fat Boy, what is the diff?

I am looking at buying a used FB around 2007-newer, I am 6-1 so don't think I would need the lo, but seems to be a lot of them on the market. Is it an easy change? Now told the bike I am looking at is a Fat Boy S, 2016

If I recall, but may well be wrong - The "Low" is just a blacked-out regular FB. Not actually any lower in height.

That is my exact bike! If you end up with it you'll LOVE it! Is it denim or gloss?

I'm assuming you mean changing it to a regular Fat Boy....?

Originally, the "Lo" model was touted to have a lower stance (1" to 1.5") , different narrow seat, and different narrow handlebars...

Comparing say a 2010 Fat Boy Lo FLSTFB (JN) to a 2010 Fat Boy FLSTF (BX), they both use the old part numbers for an easier comparison...

It would seem the only changes were different shocks, handlebars, and seats between those two models to achieve the low stance. The front fork assemblies and springs were the same...2010 Fat Boy FLSTF (BX)
2010 Fat Boy Lo FLSTFB (JN)

Seat:
FLSTF - 52504-07A
FLSTFB- 51873-10A

Handlebars:
FLSTF - 56886-07A riser 56887-07
FLSTFB- 55980-10A riser 56887-07

Front Forks:
FLSTF - L/45916-07A R/45915-08A Spring- 45931-00
FLSTFB- L/45916-07A R/45915-08A Spring- 45931-00

Rear Shocks:
FLSTF - 54508-00B
FLSTFB- 54549-04

I can only assume the 2016 Fat Boy Lo has the same differences, but can't be sure... you would need to compare those parts between the two models with an online parts finder...

I certainly doubt you would NEED the Lo model, but many people, regardless of height, like the lower stance on a Softail... the seats and bars are very subjective for comfort and could be more comfortable, even to a taller rider....

I would test drive one and see how it feels.. but if you should decide to change it back to a regular Fat Boy.... changing bars, seat, and rear shocks is not hard, and done many times, by many people for personal comfort... regardless of model...

Good luck with your search...
