Default 2013 Breakout

Well I mentioned in my Forward Control thread in the 2018 Softail Section that I broke down and got another bike, I found a good deal on a 2013 Breakout with 4020 miles on it. I have already done a few changes to it to include, new pegs, grips, mirrors, LED Headlight and riser spacers to move the drag bars up a bit. Since the bike came with a V&H Pro Pipe and a stage one air cleaner I decided to contact Fuel Moto and see if they had a tune that would stop the popping and back firing every time I let off on the throttle. And, since I was on the site I thought there is no sense in running the old chrome football A/C cover so I ordered an S&S A/C to really let it breathe a little.... Here's a pic the day I brought it home. I will post up the changes in a bit..... I will say I was pleasantly surprised to see all the dedicated threads to the Breakout and look forward to using some of that information.....

Been awhile since I updated this as I said I would. Just a few changes for now and maybe more to come this winter.

Here is the factory rear plate mount:

Here is the international plate mount with a few mods. I installed a lighted license plate frame and used an old reflector for now to cover the holes where the factory plate light goes. Also in this picture you can see the new LED taillights and the new swingarm bag.

I also did the new LED headlight and 1 1/2" spacers on the bar and swapped all the turn signals and running lights to Custom Dynamics LEDS.

Here are the new pegs from AVON I also installed the matching shifter on the other side, you can also see the new S&S intake and fixed the heat shields on the Pro Pipe.

Here are the new grips and mirrors..

That's about it for now, one other thing I forgot was the new tune from Fuel Moto for the stage 1 that was improperly done the first time. Fires up and runs a lot smoother now. Still thinking if I want to take the time and relocate the front turn signals to the forks or wait for winter.....

Well it seems like since it is on the lift might as well go all in... Decided to do the 30 tooth pulley swap while I had time so this is the result of a nut that won't budge. 4' breaker bar and 3 & 1/2' feet of pipe and no joy, tried 2 different large impacts and it wouldn't budge. So I decided to make a few relief cuts on the nut and it finally was able to spin off with no damage to the trans shaft or threads.

And since I had all this wide open space I decided now would be a good time to do the rear shocks, so I ordered up a set of Progressive 422's for the rear...

I am waiting on the 70 tooth rear pulley to get here this week and I also had to order a 3/8" spacer. Once they are here and mounted up with new bolts I will have the rear wheel rebalanced and they get everything back together. Then I have to install the new Progressive front springs and relocate the turn signals off the bars.... It never ends.....
