Default Personal Accents Dash Insert Question...

I want to get the vivid black dash insert, but I have the chrome tank panel that looks like an extension of the speedo, as seen below. I am trying to get ideas on how to make extensions for the dash insert that will go down in the grooves all the way down the tank panel. Any ideas?

i have that same dash extention piece... and have pondered that as well... i can't believe they don't make that insert for that to match... i want to add the insert, but it would look just silly without it on the extention... if ya figure out something... let me know..

Warg - I just put the same dash extension on my bike and want to do the same thing. I was considering buying the Vivid Black Accent from HD for the top part of the dash due to the thin part around the speedo and on the lower dash extension I though about going to a vinyl sign maker and getting a couple of strips of black vinyl and cutting it to fit in the grooves. I think if you can make a template and then cut the vinyl it would work. Would have to wipe the dash extension down with rubbing alchol to remove wax and cleaners to make sure the vinyl sticks.

Again, I have not done it yet, but it is a thought.

Yeah, I was thinking of getting a sheet of plastic, vinyl something that will match the insert and cutting strips to fit the grooves. Not sure what material to use though.

Only thing about painting it is, the plastic tank panel has textured grooves and the black insert is smooth, so it wouldn't match that well.

I guess I could always replace the chrome tank panel with a leather one.

Default Personal Accents

Just purchased the Skulls out of the package and was wondering how to apply. Should I remove my existing Vivid Black from the instrument panel or but the new one over it. Also, should I clean it with alcohol prior to installation. I purchased the out of wrapper unit for 30.00 and it has no instructions.

When putting on a new one you need to take the old one off first. You will need to clean the glue off before you put on the new one.
