I've been on the hunt for a new seat.. I haven't had the stock seat on the bike since I done all the work so I slapped it back on to take the gf out for a ride.. It actually felt pretty good.. So I'm thinking I'll just have it recovered to get rid of them god awful studs lol.. I'm thinking tan.. Maybe grey? What do you guys think?
A tan seat would certainly pop on that bike. Maybe someone with Photoshop skills could sketch it up. Plus there are probably stock images out there on Lougle.
I wouldnt mind seeing a photo-shopped pic.. I am leaning heavily towards the brown leather though... That seems to be the favored pick with everybody I talk to.
You have a 'CLEAN' look going with the gray/black w chrome going on & I wouldn't want to lose that, myself. But there is no accounting for taste and I think the studs add a subtle amount of dress to the bike. I really like the tan color on some bikes, but I think it would look too much like an 'add-on' on that beauty.
Gray w black studs would be a decent look. Gray by itself might look a bit bland and lose a dimension by blurring into the rest of the bike.
As much as I like the tan leather idea, it often looks like wearing a brown hat with a black suit.
However, I saw a pearl white/black w chrome bike with a tan solo seat, that looked super custom, but the big solo seat had a very custom look by itself.
You may have to lose the gf & get a great solo seat. Priorities must be maintained.
Black, definitely black. I like the studs but they're not for everyone, keeps that classic look. If you're going to redo the seat cover, you might as well go all out and have Mean City Cycles do the Memory Foam upgrade yours and hers, you'll both thank me for it later, lol. I thought about having mine re-covered in leather, I had a C&C seat made for my Dyna in leather, I loved it.

I have never been one for factory seats (because of looks).. Surprisingly this one feels good AND doesnt look to horrible. I stopped by the local upholstery shop to get a quote and I thought I had an idea of the color I was going to go with, until they showed me the sample book... Now I really have some decisions to make haha.. Im torn between some type of brown.. Or a grey that will match the grey on my bike, with possibly a white or blue stitching. (on the grey)
Went by the upholstery shop.. Found a grey that matches my bike almost perfectly.. Now going to see if I can match the blue on the pin stripping for the thread color...
