The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Super clean looking bike, although I personally hate those style of risers.... Personal preferences aside, IMHO, it is over priced....
The crazy seller's market is changing.... Inflation is making discretionary purchases, like motorcycles, take a back shelf with a lot of people... but as always with Harleys, there are a lot of emotional buyers willing to overpay just to get a Harley....
I'm in the market for used Low Rider. Been looking for about a year. I'm not willing to overpay, and since I have three other Harleys, I'm willing to wait until a good/fair deal comes up. I have noticed that the Low Riders of the vintage I am looking for aren't selling as fast, or for as much, as they were even a month or two ago... Many that I thought were overpriced are still listed, and their listings are 1 or 2 months old.....
The value of that bike by Black Book Powersports:
Year: 1999
Make: Harley-Davidson
Model: FXST Softail Standard
Model Type: Cruiser
Displacement: 1340
Cylinders: 2
VIN: 1HD1BHL1X
Finance Advance: $4,155
MSRP: $11,995
Avg Retail: $5,235
Auction Wholesale $4,075
Clean Trade: $4,020
Fair Trade: $3,315
The average retail value is $5,235. That bike appears to be above average. I also think a solid maintenance and service history, with documentation, has value...
Ask yourself how much above average retail that bike is to you...?
Bottom line..... If it's all you have been looking for, then pay more for it, and enjoy the bike!
Good luck with your decision and bike search...
