There are so many different variations possible, I hesitate to lay out a step by step. I did remove the "seatpost" and relocated the coil, and I consider those to be necessesary, but I hate to give any specifics. I used Amazon bags and brackets, and they took a little massaging to get them to ride where I wanted them to. For passenger floorboards, I went to a local Harley salvage, and just tried mocking up different possibilities. There were a couple that might have worked, but I settled on a pair that came off of an Electraglide. Not real sure how they compare to the OEM Heritage softail versions but I know they couldn't sit even a 1/4' lower without contacting the exhaust. They are mounted in the location where the OEM pegs were located. In a perfect world, they should be a little bit farther forward for the best passenger comfort, but my wife hasn't complained (much).
Brapple - Thanks, I was looking at the Cobra`s but not many reviews........... Power wise???? notice any difference?
LXT - the power increase was shuttle; however, the combination of the Cobra's, Arlen Ness Big Sucker and the S&S 509G Cams provided a nice bump in power.
DAHoyle,
I know what you mean - funny thing is ive put on many and dont pay attention - just tell the customer hey I need this, gotta do that and they throw money at it & in the end............. they like it & are happy. Now for me - Exhausts are my weak point in the mechanical world, some bump the HP and lower Tq, others are lower Tq but HP gained at a certain Rpm and some just make no difference??????
when I Looked at what I need to do - I was like oh dam...........gotta remove this, then relocate that and will the floorboard work (aftermarket) will the stock linkage work???? will I lose or gain or just a wash & no difference? appreciate the feedback guys. Thank you.
Freedom performance true dual shark tails and I love them. After 4 years I have no complaints. I removed the baffles and installed Thunder Torque inserts and it's loud and deep.
My absolute favorite Stock paint scheme. Your bike looks fantastic man.
