Locking leather covered rigid saddlebag latches
Posting this for future reference. Part # 51557-00A. These plastic latches are used on several HD saddlebags. Retail from HD for $80.09. The first picture is of the stock latches The second picture is of the identical latches on Ebay for $15 plus a few parts. Turns out they are universal marine compartment latches. I had to replace the latches on a set of old saddlebags PN 53061-00B for 00-17 Softails. They went on the wife's Honda Shadow 750 Spirit and look like they were made for it! They are also used on other models and are identical to the original part and worked fine. No need for anyone to spend $55 more than they have to for a cheap plastic part. I saw these just in time before i ordered the latches from Harley. My Ebay latches came with the keys pictured in the first photo.
