Default Help with turn signals

Im want to replace my stock chrome turn signals with black ones. I got a set of used turn signals from a night rod, I would like to get them powdercoated, but I can figure out how to disassemble the front turnsignals. the rear turnsignal are not metal so Im going to have to paint them.

Why do you have to take them apart? I could be wrong but I dont think the heat used is bad enough to bother the wires and its dead easy topowdercoatthe outside only. If I were you I would just use front housings for both ends. That way you get a free extra bulb filiment (1157 vs. 1156) to hard wire in to either the brakeorrunning light circuits. While still retaining the turn signal function.
Worse case is you can always use a decent grade of paint, you don't really have to powdercoat them.

If you want to try or see what's involved in rewireing the fron signals to work in the rear PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send you a couple of diagrams I copied off some web site about it.
Its really fairly simple to do and will make the bike that much easier to see at night.

I got theblack turn signals from a Night Rod, but they dont quite look the way I want, so I want to get them powder coated. The rear turn signal came apart pretty easy, but they are plastic so Im going to have to paint them. my problem is with the front ones I cant figure out hot to take them apart without breaking them. anyway I'll take your info maybe that can give me another route to do what I want
