Oil preference?
( See post #16 )
There is no need to run motorcycle (v-twin) oil in a harley unless you like to empty your wallet.
it was designed for bikes that the engine shares a sump with the primary. It leaves out additives that cause the clutch to slip but are beneficial to an engine as well.
A harley has 3 holes. Not 1.
Use a good race oil of your preference. Much better off.

Wow.....such douchery. It's obviously clear the brother is new. Great way to turn him off to what is, and has been for most here, a very informative forum. As usual Hat has gone above and beyond to help him out.
Thanks Hat.
@m8deluxe good luck, don't let the ball busters get to you, most of em good guys just having a lil fun. In any event. Amsoil for me, like Clammy said. 20/50 and 60

There is an entire section of the forum designated for oil discussion.
If you have an oil question, that is the place to ask.

i realize the men hear with softails are the outliers. But do you really believe as a rule bike made for touring, doesn't have more miles per year than a bike not made for touring? Storage and weather protection will have you riding more. If simply to the grocery store.
