I. If you are worried about weather protection and storage buy a car. lol .
But I like riding motorcycles, and want to ride them as often as I can, for as much as I can. The hertiage you mention with a trunk would probably due a lot.
My bike is my grocery getter. I've rode in cold weather on less equiped bikes. I just like to enjoy myself.
I just bought a heated seat too. Never thought I would want one.But I was getting a new seat. $180 more.I sure love heated grips. I worry use them to much and will have to replace.
I use to think they were all the same. Then a friend tuned me on to this oil called AMSOIL
My bike started soon as hit the starter button. Fuel mileage went up 3 MPG the first day. Top speed gained 15 mph. It was using oil and that stopped after a week. HD dealer said a month earlier I needed a new engine. After using AMS they though I had had it rebuilt.
If you contact me I can give ya a guy that will cut you a deal on it.
PS. My 40 year old boat motor was frozen up . Poured some AMSOIL in it. The next day it started right up.
Joke around all you want, but I ask you: how many Twin Cam B (or A, for that matter) engines do you know of that have gone over 217,000 miles on their original bottom end? I only know of one - MINE, and I've used Amsoil in the engine for almost all of those miles. I have full confidence when I recommend it to people.
There is no need to run motorcycle (v-twin) oil in a harley unless you like to empty your wallet.
it was designed for bikes that the engine shares a sump with the primary. It leaves out additives that cause the clutch to slip but are beneficial to an engine as well.
A harley has 3 holes. Not 1.
Use a good race oil of your preference. Much better off.
Not all of them. There are many designed for performance street as well as race engines.
Valvoline makes both. VR1 is designed for performance street engines and race engines.
NSL(Not Street Legal) for track only is designed with little to no detergents. Do you know why?
I don't want any unwanted or excessive detergents.
They cause foaming at high rpms which is not good for anti wear.
Also with today's oils and what is allowed to be called synthetic there is little difference between synthetic and a good conventional...except price.
I would never pay $15/qt for any mc oil that a good conventional race oil will do just as well if not better and I have over $5000 stuck in my engine doing 127 horsepower/torque and regularly run it up to 6000rpm.
