i realize the men hear with softails are the outliers. But do you really believe as a rule bike made for touring, doesn't have more miles per year than a bike not made for touring? Storage and weather protection will have you riding more. If simply to the grocery store.
I am 76 years old. Several years ago I switched over to the Heritage because of a serious heart attack and I needed a lighter bike than the Ultra. I still ride 10 - 12K a year. If you are worried about weather protection and storage buy a car. lol By the way I use and like Mobil 1 V-Twin.

Oil is a pretty subjective topic around here. Everyone will have an opinion and chances are those opinions will differ due to folks living in various temperature zones, preference, etc. It does not mean they are wrong. Below is what works for me.
I use to think they were all the same. Then a friend tuned me on to this oil called AMSOIL
My bike started soon as hit the starter button. Fuel mileage went up 3 MPG the first day. Top speed gained 15 mph. It was using oil and that stopped after a week. HD dealer said a month earlier I needed a new engine. After using AMS they though I had had it rebuilt.
If you contact me I can give ya a guy that will cut you a deal on it.
PS. My 40 year old boat motor was frozen up . Poured some AMSOIL in it. The next day it started right up.
