So, update. I think I've decided that I'm going to go with a 7.5" strutless fender. I'm hoping I can still get a pac seat on it, but I don't know it it will support another person 🤷‍♂️ we'll find out. Also going with a 150 on the rear as soon as I order the wheels. Bars are getting changed out with some 12-14" apes of some sort, and I'm looking for a CCI lucky sucker gas tank. Have not decided yet if I'm going to get a springer front or just get the fork tubes painted black. Pipes are going to be shadetree modified because I'm not fond of the upsweep at the end, and I'd also like a couple of swingarm bags.

Will keep updating as I go.

Default Another update

So, it's been a while since my last update. Plans changed a bit with the fender and tire/wheel. Decided against the 200/180 tire for lack of experience on my end and ease of modification. Going with a 150 on 3.5 wheel when I can swing it. Also found a different direction for the bike. Only have the one picture as it sits now. New fenders and tank are off for sandblasting and matte black powdercoat along with the triples and some other misc parts. Need to sort the wiring as a lot of it won't be needed anymore. That's going to be a whole project in itself. Luckily the previous owners only removed portions of the turn signal wires and the rest of the harness is in great shape.

Everything is loosely bolted for fit up only, hence the wonky fender alignment. Still need to fab some struts for it. I'm thinking rebar struts would be cool since their only job is to hold the fender off of the tire 🤔

Edit: added a picture of the bike as it sat before the new bodywork.

i think if you space it correctly, you remove some of the gap to seat...that will be huge for appearance
to save a little cash, i would cut those pipes right behind your wraps band clamp and make them more of prostreet exhaust

it is definitely looking much better

Ya, I'm thinking the same things. The seat is a temporary fixture, it's the one that came on the bike. I'll keep it for now, but I'm looking for something different. It'll work for now.

Ive been thinking the same about the exhaust. I'm planning to remove the wrap, and cut each pipe into 3 pieces. I want to graft the tips back on and get rid of the upsweep. That'll point the exhaust down and right of the bike. I've already ordered higher quality wrap to put back on it, and no one will even be able to tell

So it's been a while since my last post, life got busy for a while. The bike did get completed enough to ride for a couple of months before the cold really set in here. Still some changes I'd like to make, and some of them require tank removal and new mounts made for some little things.

Tank needs to be moved back 1.5 inches or so to completely clear the bars at lock, new seat and mounts are still needed, and it desperately needs a tune. No speedo yet, but I'll figure that one out this winter when I replace the drag bars for something a little different, probably 6" rise z bars.

It's ugly and loud and exactly what I wanted.
