You have black rims with plain lead weights. My bike has clear alloy rims but black weights.

Hard to get folks to have an attention for detail to make things look nicer.

They are actually lead free zinc, and they are black. The camera flash makes them appear to be silver. HD sells them in black or silver.

from 22 down to 5....man, makes one wonder if 5 is even right. To me, this is a sign to never have any work done at that dealer as they either have untrained techs, or let the least qualified service dept employee do the work.

If you fit your own tyres and use beads or ride on you wouldn't have a clue how out of balance the wheel is.

By virtue of turning the tyre to reduce the amount of balance weight required kind of gives the impression the job was in fact carried out correctly first time it just wasn't visually appealing.

These days its about laziness.
Someone knew rotating the tire would have been better but just didn't want to put in the effort.

Who wants to pay the tech double money for him to fit the tyre twice? It is odd that motorcycle tyres aren't marked the same as car tyres although it is only an assumption the wheel will be heaviest at the valve.

I suspect there is an entire generation or two of tire changers out there who have never been trained or shown how rotating a tire can reduce the weights needed to balance it.

In most companies, and Harley Dealerships especially, the "bottom line" is the goal above most everything else... I doubt the vast majority would even consider how the weights look, as long as the tire is balanced...

The difference between attention for detail and just doing the job within an agreed price versus having to screw the customer for every last cent regardless of barely meeting as opposed to exceeding a customer's expectations.
