Hey all. I just changed my TGS and now when I start the bike it starts with the revs completely maxed out. Checked for codes, no codes. Please help.

I hate to be Capt. Obvious.... but....

I would say it's time to recheck the installation of the TGS.... to include all wires, pins, connectors....

Why is it you felt the need to replace the TGS....?

I checked everything that I could see, no pinches that I can see. Checked the pins and connectors, they’re squared away. I changed the tgs because I wrecked and sheered half the teeth off my old one.

Might have to look at other areas impacted by the crash..... or anything you moved, touched, or tugged on while doing the repairs...

Electrical is not my strong suit.... Hopefully others better at electrical issues than I am will be along soon to post up some ideas...

It will certainly help if you give us the year and model, as well as what was damaged in the crash....

It's hard to try and diagnose something when you can't put your hands/eyes on it... so anything that happened to it, or that you fixed before this issue started, could give us a clue....

ope! That’s a good idea.

2018 FXFBS

The crash was not bad at all. I have a fxrt fairing and stout bags that saved the bike but my right handlebar took the brunt of it and shredded my grip, bent my brake lever, and tore the teeth off the tgs.

Have you tried the throttle reset procedure?

1. Have your run/stop switch in the run position.

2. To reset your idle setting back turn the ignition switch on for 10 seconds off for 10 seconds (do not start the engine), repeat a total of 4 times. That should reset your original throttle position.
