2004 Softail drivetrain swap?
I have a 2004 Softail Standard (FXSTI) and the natural engine color has got to go. I have been looking into different options. I'm a painter so painting the parts doesn't bother me except I don't want to paint the cylinders, for both heat reasons and adhesion. S&S 100cid kit but I'm not a mechanic. I can do a lot, but I don't build motors. S&S engine =$$$$. H-D long block program is a possibility. I have found a video from Fallen Cycles doing a swap from a 2005 88cid twin cam to a 96cid full drive train, 6 speed and all.
. My question is does anyone know what frames are compatible? If the 95cid is, what about the 103cid? Any other ideas?

Softail to Softail from '00-'05 should interchange. Not sure about '06 up. An engine/trans from any year Dyna will not work.
Maybe an engine from a Night Train is in your future.
