Default Load Bearing Index for tyres

Hi All,

I need some help, so i ordered my new tyres for HD FLSTN ( Softail Deluxe ) 2014 . the front tyre is correct MU90, but the rear was different.

The recommended rear tyre for the bike is MU85 - 16 M/C 77 H TL
Unfortunately the tyre that came was 140/90 - 16 M/C 71 H TL

the country i live in we need to wait 3 months to receive the tyre so i am in a fix, as i under stand that size is ok, but the load bearing index looks too low. also its not re-inforced. Do you guys recommend to still use it or should i replace it and wait for another 3 months for the correct tyre.

you help in this would be great!

Fellow rider
R.

Welcome to the forums from Ontario, Canada. I'm sure someone is going to ask what manufacturer of tire you are talking about, but sounds like you know the answer. To bad about the wait times, we have some issues like that here also.

I got continental legender white walls. So I should replace them? I am seriously divided

A 77 load rating is good for 908 lbs, a 71 is good for 761 lbs.

Either will work...

Yes, gross vehicle weight (and at 761 x 2 tires I doubt you can load that bike to 1400 lbs )
