Fxst softail 2002 engine noise

Has it always made that sound, or did it just start doing it...?
Did you do any work or repairs recently...?
I don't recognize that sound from my experience, but it could have several causes. Your video shows the comp portion of your primary... is this where you believe the sound is coming from?

I made some changes a couple of months ago. I removed stock air filter and pipes and put in new ones. Vance and Hynes pipes and an open air filter.
The sound started about a week ago. I strongly believe the sound comes from my primary.
The sound goes away when the engine is hot and i can't feel any changes in performance. The bike runs good.

If you are pretty sure it's coming form the primary, and no where else like a loose part on your new exhaust or air cleaner, pull the primary cover and check things out...
It'll only cost you a quart of primary fluid...
You can check the primary chain tension and look around to see if everything looks to be working properly...

Now i can only hear that noise at ignition. When i put the bike in gear, it stops, and once i get on the road and drive it, the noise is gone.
