Hi. I’m new to this so please forgive me if I’m posting incorrectly.
I want to buy a Fat Boy S.
Can anyone please tell me what years this model was made and if there’s one year that was better than the others? Also any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!
2016 was the first year. I had a 2016 stage 1 with a D&D 2 into 1 and Screaming Eagle race tuner which is no longer available. 91 hp and 107 tq. I sold it after 4 years with 13000 miles. I had no mechanical issues with the bike. The stock seat was horrible so I got a Mustang solo which was great.
Two comments:
The 110 twin cam ran extremely hot. I had to get a Captain Itch crotch cooler just to ride it and it still torched me.
The bike was a dog at 75 mph and above with no top end power
The current M8 114 is light years ahead in performance, even stock, and runs way cooler.
Made in '16 and '17 along with the Low Rider and Slim S models, using the Screaming Eagle 110" Twin Cam usually reserved for the CVO models. They all got the blacked out treatment. the Fatboy came in gloss and denim black, at least for 16 it did, the Slim had the gloss black and the denim olive green army paint. The Dyna came in only gloss black I believe. Love mine, it's a '16. I'll agree it runs hot but I don't have any higher speed problems like cobra stated, the bike pulls all the way. I have the Thunderheader and a Saddlemen seat so i'd recommend (for any bike) a nice exhaust upgrade and a better seat!! I give the model a full endorsement!
