2009 Fatboy Odometer Roll Back?
Bike has very low mileage. It came out of Quebec, which may be known for odometer roll back.
Im taking it to a Harley dealership tomorrow morning. They will be hooking it up to the ECM diagnostic tool. Anyone know what information they will be able to retrieve? Service manager said they can only determine if it has been re-flashed?
Thanks for any help if you can give it.
Those would have Odo reading and a date , might help with guessing what the actual mileage is
Leaving out a fraudulent owner / seller , I expect someone did not "marry" the replacement speedo to the bike
Why, we do not know ...
He also believed that the condition of the bike matched the mileage. That said, he cant guarantee anything. Also, I dont think they had any service records. Not sure what else I can do?

I had Harley Davidson look at it a few days ago. He said the ECU does not communicate with the speedometer for the 2009 model year. As for ABS, he believed that it was an option for that year.

Did the dealer at least turn off the ABS light? They have the ability to do that with the Digital Tech II.... anyone with one of the aftermarket tools like TechnoResearch, etc could also do it...
There is a central HD computer that could have the service records (including mileage) of the bike, IF the service was done at a dealership and the dealer who performed the service adds them to that system. Most do not take the time or trouble to add basic service to main HD computer.
An example:
When I bought my 2012 bagger, I bought it with several options installed at the time of delivery. Doing that includes those options in the manufacturer's two year warranty. One for those options were LED turn signals.
At 18 months, one of them failed. I was across the country from the installing dealership. I took it to a local dealership to have the LED turn signal replaced under the two year warranty.
I was lucky, because the selling dealership added the service ticket info, including the mods added at the time of delivery, to the main HD computer. Even though I had all the receipts, I didn't need to present them to get the LED signal repaired under warranty. The repairing dealership service writer was able to verify the work done at the time of delivery from the main HD computer. He told me that many dealerships don't take the time to add that info to the main computer.
You may never know if the mileage is accurate... Oh well.....
So just enjoy the bike...!!!
