I am preparing to winterize my 2021 Heritage Softail. I drain/replace all the oils and put it on a battery tender during the winter months. I do not ride the bike for several months. My question is: should I also take out the main fuse during this time as well? Thanks!
For two months, you don't need to do anything. When I retired in 2012, we went from being gone a month to 3 months.
When I got back, I put the maintenance charger on it. The old girl (04 Softail with 50k on it) was ready to go the next day.
Oil doesn't wear out sitting 3 months . Neither does 10% ethanol fuel in a FI Harley.
Now vented carburetors and oil mix gas will dry out clogging jets. The smaller the carburetor, the worst it is. My 135 Johnson on a 20' open fisherman had no problem. My now 25 Yamaha on a Carolina Skiff does.
While bike is under warranty, you do need to go by time and milage. After that, go by milage.
