On Top or On Bottom Signals?
I've sheared COUNTLESS numbers of visors off making hard turns. I now silicone them on and they pretty much stay put. I still loose one every once in a while, but it's usually because it's worn down to the breaking point.
You WILL scrape the bottom of the signals, so if your all concerned about how your bike looks and a scratch will bother you don't mount them there. It's the bottom of the signal and you'll never even see it until you put your bike on the lift. For me, it's no biggie, but for some of you **** *****'s it'll drive you insane. LOL !!
I used the same brackets to mount them as you have them on now ( under your bars ) That way you can adjust them up and down and back and forth easily.
The light on the right will sit right on the floorboard bracket, whereas the one on the left will sit below it a bit. This MAY drive some people nuts, but how many people even realized that the two side were different to begin with. If you want them to look even, one will sit off of the frame.
One other thing
Someone mentioned this as a spot for fog lights. I actually wanted the opposite. I didn't want any light down there at all until I hit the turn signal button. You know how the front signals are lit all of the time and get brighter once you turn on the signal? I didn't want that. To quickly, easily, and as inexpensive as it gets, all I did was cover the pin on the bulb that turns it on at all times with a small piece of black tape before screwing it in. WA-LA, turn signal bulbs that only go on when the switch is pressed. Now the signal is dark most of the time and I dig it.
The next time I shear one off, as cool as it looks, I'll probably go with smaller signals. I've only ever had to replace one whole signal, and I've probably replaced about 8 or so lenses. I've had them mounted down there for about 3 years.
Any other questions, feel free to ask ...

I could care less if they get scratched, but I think I will have to do something to keep the lenses on, I would hate for water to get in there and cause a short!....hmmmm, maybe some duct tape...duct tape can fix anything.
Doing a $hit load of work to the front end this weekend...new progressive springs, new bars and risers, and now sneaky turn signals.
Thanks for the help.
