OK here we go again
Finger tight then quarter turn is the general standard because most people dont have a torque wrench and will just ham hand it. Hand tight is a good rule of thumb but I follow the MFG service manual.
Ok so 1/4 turn for new plugs, but how much for already crushed washers,1/8 of a turn?
Thanks so much for these answers. I have already stripped a plug out and now that its fixed I dont want to do it again.

As cheap as plugs are, why would you ever reuse a plug?
But if you must, a 1/4 turn leaves another 1/4 turn. And NAPA use to have them for about $3 for 10 on that row of oddball stuff on popular cars.

because I want to check them to see if I have the idle mixture screw (the one you have to remove the plug to get to) right. So please tell me how to put the used ones back in. Is it 1/4 turn for used plugs or is it 1/8 turn. I already know its a 1/4 turn for new plugs. I just need a simple answer.

How old are you? Have you ever in your whole life ever changed out a sparkplug either in a car, truck, snowmobile, boat, lawnmower, or garden tiller? It ain't Rocket Surgery!

You've been given the answer multiple times, and guided to sparkplug manufacturers who give specific answers to your question.
The spark plug has to be tight enough to seal, but needs nothing more.
It's an aluminum head, don't over torque it. Tearing out the threads will make you cry, so don't do it.
