They said not without modification, just to put a new tire on 150 is the widest. My point being, what tire is on that 09 wheel?

You apparently didn't bother to read the thread you hijacked.....

An '09 FXSTS has a 200/55 R17 78V..... So you can buy a 2009 FXSTS to get a rear 200 tire if you want one....

But not gonna happen on your 2004 without some modifications (for a 200 rear tire, major modifications).....

All my bikes here have 170/60/16 tires on them. The 60 series tires by Shinko’s are 6-3/4” wide. You have 7-1/4” inside your stock fender. Fat boys , STDs and Heritage fenders the same. The 1-1/8 belt on a later model pulley is a Bolton. You have to drill out the 2 rear fender mount bolts then switched out to capture nuts mounted inside out. The stock nuts are what hits tie wider tire.
Everything else caliper etc is good to go as is.
The 200 tire requires 2006 and later 9” wide Softail fender along with struts and caliper are needed for this swap A little clearances of the later model caliper and bracket is needed to fit. Late model pulley and 7/8” belt gives plenty of room for the 200. I’ve done a couple of these later model swaps and prefer the 170 swap due to no grinding or fitting required except four holes drilled in the strut. I also massage the width of the early struts with a porta power if the horns are on the tight side. I’ve measured from 7”to 7-3/8 on different bikes before doing the swap.
There are other ways of doing the 200 swap but involve way more money to accomplish.
Side note I run Shotguns on two of these bikes and can run with air dumped no rubbing issues.I run two up on the Train with no issues either.

As long as your belt is 1 1/8" you should be able to fit a 150 Max.. Anything larger will require some mods..
