A little buyers remorse: seat is awful. Did not pick up in test ride. But after buying bike and riding for over two hours. My butt is numb. I have tried the Air Hawk seat pad with some success and a small backrest but I am not enjoying what is otherwise a very nice handling motorcycle. I use it for short 34-hour rides on east Tennessee country roads. No touring. Any suggestions? Thanks, fhw
Well, going away from stock is going to eliminate all the looks of that saddle.
So if that matters to you, I'd continue exploring seat pads and trying to figure out exactly what the problem is and which seat pad might help.
Otherwise, back to the Harley dealership and test ride say the Sundowner solo seat. It's not very expensive and reviews seem to indicate it's pretty darn comfortable.
After that, it's the usual Mustang/Corbin/etc recommendations, and I'll recommend the Russell Day Long.
Mean City Cycles can pull your seat apart and add gel or different foam inside per your needs. Then they will put it all back together like nothing ever happened. I would give them a call, you lose half off the look of that bike without the seat, good luck.
Called them. Owner is out but will think about it tomorrow. Mine would be the first bike and they are not sure if they can do it. But great idea. Thank you. fhw
You won't like mine but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Loved the stock seat for looks but after an hour, my back! Touring bikes be damned, I can ride all day in comfort with this signature series seat.
