How do I remove this part from the tank? Need to remove it to put in a dummy cap. Fuel gauge was broken. On a 2007 FXSTC . Somewhere in the life of this bike it has came up with a SE fuel tank . Sorry for the confusion but it has had me totally bumfussled.
After doing some research this tank seems to be a FXSTSSE tank. Here is the part on a Ebay listing. I need to know how to get it out of the tank.
I am unfamiliar with that gas cap fuel gauge.
However, just based on the pictures of yours, compared to the one you found on eBay;
It looks to me like the fours screws (torx hd) that attach it are missing in your pic.... So in theory it should just come off ..
It may be "stuck" in place because of the rubber gasket. I would look it over closely & carefully. If it looks like those fours screws are in fact the ones that hold it in place, it may be time to use a little muscle to take it off...
Again, this is all based on two dimensional pics you have posted..... hopefully someone who has actually done it can confirm or correct my interpretation...

I took the 4 torx screws out. It is stuck and I didnt want to mess anything up. May spray it with a little PB Blaster and try pulling it again
