I have not had good luck with craftsman torx bits. They seem soft.. They also twist easily and can make life frustrating when trying to get stuff done... Snapon has a good set, and my carquest set is what I use most often...

They are a flat black and might be hardened.... I would not suggest craftsman in this case, unless you live close to sears, and don't mind getting new tools in the middle of the project.....

don't tell me that now!

what problems did you have?

Sears is about 2 miles away so it is not a problem. I have never broken a single one of their tools (knock on wood), lets not start now.

Not much at Sears in the way of Torx these days. Look for SK or Snap On. Don't skimp on these. You'll use the hell out of them.

So did you get it done ? The problem I had was the bolts for the bracket kept spinning but not loosening up . There was so much loctite on them that they wouldnt break free ! I ended up having to take the fender struts off and get it out that way . My bike is also lowered so I didnt have much room to get in there [sm=headbang.gif]

I am bringing the bike home today and will be attmepting this project in a matter of hours.

Did you end up needing a torx, and if so, was it a t-45?

If you bike was lowered thi intall would suck.. it can be done with open end wrenches, and made real easy with a swivel socket...

Crock, you will laugh when you get done at how easy the install was....

Mine was 1/2" bolts and with a 1/2" swivel socket and long 1/4" drive extension it was a peice of cake... all tho my turn sig wires seemed a little short....

hopefully. i may go do it right now. i installed the kury leds and they "hyperflash" which means I need to figure out the load equalizer situation. some say the kury one shuts down the flashers. maybe I should have just had the dealer do it. I do not want to start cutting wires apart.
