Default help!

Hi everyone,
I've been a bit stupid. I have a 2020 fxlrs, I've been buying parts to upgrade to stage 3 for a while done cam chest etc last thing was the big bore kit. I've purchased on ebay which said it was for my bike. pn 910-0733 which I believe is for touring models, everything seemed fine until the rear barrels bottom 2 fins sit on tappet block cover. (too late to return kit now).
so I'm thinking low profile tappet block covers or machine out a few mm of the fins. would this work or is there other problems that I will encounter?
I know I should have double checked part numbers but I'm at where im at.
any help/advise/info would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I'd look at the front jug, just to see if there's clearance machined out for that over on the other side. If there is, you've installed the rear jug on the front. Just something to check.

That's a good suggestion....

Also it won't hurt anything grinding some of the fin away.

Looking at the picture I'm wondering if the push rod will clear the fins.

It would appear that the part number is for Touring and Softail models. https://view.publitas.com/ss-cycle/2...023/page/30-31
Check the S&S catalog to be certain, but probably won't hurt a thing to take out that bit of fin.

I have not owned or worked on an M8 engine... but...

The online parts finder for twin cam engines shows the same part number for the front & rear cylinders.

The online parts finder for your M8, 2020 FXLRS shows a different part number for the front & rear cylinders. I would think that if OEM required two different cylinders on your bike, S&S would also have to make two different cylinders for your engine.

It could be you put the front cylinder on the rear and the rear cylinder on the front...
