I just purchased the Street Bob in March with around 7k on it. The previous owner had Harley do a stage 2 when he purchased it so Ive not done any modifications.
when I purchased it the oil had just been changed and showed full when warm. (Not ridden just warmed up). After about 3k miles my oil light came on. Shame on me for not checking periodically but slipped my mind. However it wasnt even showing on the dipstick. Took one quart and was full again.
Ive never had any Harley that wasnt stock so is it common to loose a quart between oil changes? It does not leak or smoke so not sure where it went.
When it was showing no oil on the dipstick had the bike been sitting at all? Or did you run it and then check it? Just seems suspicious that it wasn't showing on the stick but a quart got it back to full. Run it, recheck it, make sure its not overfilled and then monitor it closely using the same method to check the oil and see what happens.

I rode it a few miles to grab a drink then the light came on. I returned home, maybe 4 miles total and checked it and didnt show on the stick. I guess it was right at the stick because that says a quart low if its at the bottom.
Sadly why someone sold it. That rode it like they stole it.
However a quart in 3000 miles is more then in the guidelines of acceptable.
Take it easy on it. Use the brake for slowing if your driving style and road conditions safely permit that and keep an eye on oil level and maybe the rings will seat in.
I would when it's hot, top it to full mark. That will permit you probably to go 1500 mile before adding some. . I know.
I personally would not have driven it 4 miles with the red light on. However at a quart down, it was still pumping oil. Luckily.

ya I kinda had the typical light on verses light flashing mentality and a mile or less home, 3 miles before the light came on, so rolled the dice. I usually change my own fluids although not too savvy on HD other than that. Ill take it to my buddy next week thats an actual tech and have fluids changed and checked out. I just wasnt sure if that was a normal thing with stage 2. Didnt think so but figured Id ask. Thank you guys!!

Would not think stage 2 would have anything to do with it. Now I guess is someone thru a cam in with a lot of overlap, it may tend to pull a little more oil past the rings.
Turning a lot of rpm banging the rev limiter between ever red light will too. That will get it ussin more oil way before it's time.
Just what was done to it in your stage two?
PS.. Welcome to the HDFORUM. Only as a suggestion make another new thread over in the new member welcome area to say hello.

Check the electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor. It is common to get a false oil light when the connection is bad. It's located on the right front of the engine case. Pull the connector, spray some contact cleaner in there and plug it back in.
You should not get an oil pressure light when you are only one quart low.
