Has anyone experienced any issues riding in the rain on a Street Bob with the narrow front tire? I have heard some say the narrow front tire creates a slippery condition under braking.
The front tire on my softail is pretty skinny and ive been in the rain a few times. i just take it easy and dont grab a handful of brake or try and drag my knee around corners.
No different than riding any other motorcycle in the rain, don't grab a handful of front brake on wet or dirty pavement and you'll be fine.
I've got a 100/90R19 front tire on my dyna street bob and never once thought about it being unsafe in the rain. and never felt unsafe with it in the rain. As long as your tire has ample tread depth to evacuate water you're fine.
I'm not sure who you're hearing that from. But I would question their knowledge, motorcycle riding and decision-making skills, as well as any other advice you've gotten from them.

All motorcycles need extra extra caution in the rain. If you know throttle, clutch and brake control you'll be ok. I rode a Shovel head wide glide in sleet in 1983 to get to Daytona. Didnt have a choice. Its all in 'soft' hands..
I have ridden motorcycles in heavy rain with 16", 18", 19" and 21" front tires, never noticed a difference. Rain still sucks, but we gotta get to our destination. Advice provided regarding riding in the rain is all valid and good, width of front tire seems pretty meaningless, good luck.
