Load equalizer?

Load equalizer?
Is it required to run LED bulbs in the passing lamps and headlight? I have the pass lamps n headlight from my Heritage, I wanted to throw them in my friends 09 Deluxe until she gets the Eagle Lights kit next year. I've read both yes and no. Thoughts?

Thanks, I know the PO put LEDs in the front turns, didn't check to see if it had hyperflash. I'll most likely do the turns and tail for her next season.

The TSM/TSSM measures the draw from the turn signals. With incandescent bulbs, a lower draw causes the TSM/TSSM to hyper flash the turn signal light in the dash. It is a warning that you have a turn signal bulb out. With LEDs in the turn signals, the TSM/TSSM may think you always have a bulb out and hyperflash without a load equalizer.
I have read where if you only put two LED bulbs in the circuit, they may not cause hyper flash, but if you go to all four, you will need a load equalizer.
I have always gone to 4 LED turn signals in my pre-canbus bikes and so always went with a load equalizer.
I have never needed a load equalizer when adding LEDs to headlight/spot lamp or rear tail lights on my pre-canbus bikes. But in those cases I have never just swapped out bulbs, I have used head light/spot lamp/tail light assemblies from Custom Dynamics, or BAL-1 (for the rear light). They may have circuitry in their assemblies to allow for proper operation.
Just my experience, don't know if any of this info helps or not...

Your info always helps Hat....TY. I have full CD LEDs on my 05 FLSTCI, I run a Smart Triple and a load EQ. I had the clear pass lamps with LED bulbs and in the head light too before switching to Eagle Lights. I'll have to check out her front led turns.
