2002 harley fat boy
I'm glad you got it fixed... That's what is important.
For future reference, you may want to look for another dealer who is less greedy...
Harley sells an Inner Primary Gasket Kit for the various years/models of bikes.
I just bought one for a 2012 Bagger I was working on for a friend. It has a list price of $69.58 for kit #25700226. That is a 6-speed bike.
I checked and your Inner Primary Gasket Kit is part #25700225 and has a list price of $79.17. That kit should have the two seals you replaced, along with a primary cover gasket, o-rings, derby cover gasket, and inspection cover gasket. If they charged you $200, unless the Harley online OEM Service Parts website has a mistake on their site (it can happen), they waaay overcharged you for that gasket kit.
I have a Harley dealer 7 miles from my house that adds at least 3-5% to all parts prices, above the HD site list price. (Temecula HD)
I have a Harley dealer 16 miles from my house that sells all parts at the HD site list price. (Biggs HD)
When I need parts, I ride a bike and enjoy the 32 mile round trip. I choose to support Biggs HD who sells for list price (and has knowledgeable, squared away parts guys). Even though it is inconvenient for me to do so.
Funny, the greedy dealer has a couple of totally clueless parts guys..
Just some info for you to consider on your next repair...
